Galway Races Tips – Day 2
0Tody’s tips are covering 6 of the 7 races and again are all each way bets.
5:10 Dr Swanini
6:20 Zum See
7:00 Quinmaster
7:35 Yarastar
8:10 Zhukhov
8:40 Fastnowfast
*** End of Day Update ***
Not a great day. Out of the 6 races there were four 4th places but two of those paid out, Zum See and Zhukhov and to finish the day just about in profit came Fastnowfast finishing 3rd. So no big gains made today but a profit at the end of the day is good and we build on it again tomorrow.

Printable solar panels
0This looks like a brillant invention, with all the weather changes, flooding and talk of global warming things like this could be the change we all need.
The full story is here but below are some extracts to give you an idea.
Researchers at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) have developed an inexpensive solar cell that can be painted or printed on flexible plastic sheets.
“Using this unique combination in an organic solar cell recipe can enhance the efficiency of future painted-on solar cells,†said Mitra. “Someday, I hope to see this process become an inexpensive energy alternative for households around the world.â€
iPhones crash university Wi-Fi network
0Just saw this article on techcentral.ie and thought it was great! People need to realise what they’re buying and learn how to use these things correctly. The idea of buying new products just because they’re seen as “cool” and “fashionable” is only leading to bigger problems and causing some major headaches for people.
One handset enough to cause a 10-minute stall
A single iPhone is enough to bring down a Wi-Fi network, according to staff at Duke University in North Carolina.
A problem with the university’s wireless internet connection is being caused by iPhones making up to 18,000 MAC address requests to the network every second.
This in turn causes the specific section of the wireless network to freeze for a 10-minute period.
The private university is working with Apple and its wireless kit provider Cisco to resolve the issue before the new term begins in the autumn.
“The scale of the problem is very small right now,” Bill Cannon, a technology spokesman for Duke, told The Washington Post.
“But the more iPhones that are around, the more they could be knocking on the door for access.”
Matt Bancroft, vice president at device management firm Mformation, suggested that the problem highlighted a wider need for managing products once they are in the hands of end users.
“As we get more advanced services and access technologies, being able to update settings, policies and applications is key to a vastly improved service experience,” he said.
“In this instance, being able to manage and update the Wi-Fi settings of the user to ensure that they are only trying to connect onto the appropriate access points would resolve the problem for the end user, the operator and the network administrator.”
TRANSFORMERS Movie Leader: OPTIMUS PRIME
0Finally got my hands on the Optimus Prime figure from the new movie. This figure the the leader class from hasbro.

If anyone wants to get this toy but is thinking that it’s slighty expensive then don’t worry the figure is very well made and will stand up to some abuse and it also looks great. I’m not going to write a review since there’s plenty of those out there on the web and even some really good video reviews on YouTube
Just one bit of a warning, if you’re considering getting this toy for a child then be warned the transformation sequence is quiet complicated and and although the toy is for ages 5+ there’ll be very few children that will manage to do it without some help.
