Bebo – Finally see who’s viewing your profile

Posted by Joe on July 9, 2007

In case anyone has missed it you can now see who has viewed your profile for real!!!!

In the “Home” tab under your profile photo there’s a new link call “Visitors:Map” this now shows you where people are that looked at your profile and even better if you make your profile public you can see who they are!.

Bebo Visitors Map

The green pins are other public profiles and you can seee who they are.
The red pins are private profiles and only show you the location of the people who viewed your profile

Embrace this new service and share you profile!!!

Can I see anyone who’s viewed my profile, even if they don’t have an account with bebo, or are logged in?? Or can I only see people who are logged in??
    Dying to know….

  2. Joe

I’m not sure about people without an account but I’d presume they’ll show up as a red pin showing you their location. If someone is logged in and has their profile set to public they will appear as a green pin and if you place the mouse over this pin you will see who they are. I would show this in action but I have to respect the privacy of the people who have viewed my profile.

This is exactly what I expected to find out after reading the title s viewing your profile | Cubic Services. Thanks for informative article

  4. Conor

  5. JuliaPool

yeah, i tried it but the only choices i have are anonomous or off

    an my profile is public

    what am i doing wrong?

  6. Joe

Julia, Bebo are clearing the maps more regularly now so for a lot of people their map is empty. I’ve just viewed your profile so you should at least see a green marker for me and if not then get back to me and we’ll try to work out what’s wrong.

  7. Louise

Yeah I want to make my profile public but the only options I have are off or anonymous as well! how can I make it public??
    x

  8. hollie

yh im the same i onli have off or anonymous ????

  9. Joe

Ok I’ve looked into this and not sure what’s happening so I’ve done a new post http://www.cubicservices.net/?p=53 if you all could look at it and let me know

  10. Marie

I’m confused. What if you have the map thing set at off. I’m guessing that means you cant see who’s been on your page but what about pages you have been to can they see that you’ve been on theirs if your profile is public or private? Thanks

  11. Marie

Ahhhh Thanks for explaining it!!! :)

  12. karen

i can’t find the link ‘visitors:map’, is doesnt seem to appear within the home page…..or am i just being retarded!!?

  13. Joe

Public = You can see who has been viewing your profile and people can see if you’ve been veiwing their profile, but only if the other person is also set to public (sorry that can be a bit confussing)

Anonymous = You will only see the location of the people veiwing your profile and they will only see your location.

Off = You will see nothing and no one will see that you’ve been looking at their profile. This option is no fun!

  14. karen

yes i was…just found it. opps

  15. Killian

Hate to ask a stupid question but can this actually show ya the specific people who viewed your page? Like a direct link to their profile?

  16. Killian

    Yeah man that’s cool, thanks a million…

  17. Joe

Yes it does show you the specific people that viewed your profile. On your map there will be red and green pins if you hold the mouse over the green pins you will be able to see who that person is. Hope that helps.

  18. tim

Is the default setting off. So if you haven’t changed it it will be off?

  19. marymc

If my page is set to private and I am looking at a persons page that is public and we are not added as friends will they be able to see me on there map?

  20. Joe

Mary, no if your profile is private you wont appear on anyone’s map but just to let you know your profile isn’t private!

  21. marymc

how do i make sure my page is on private? I thought it was?

  22. Joe

Mary, view your profile and in the top box under your photo click “Edit Profile”. Half way down the page you’ll see “Accessible Profile” uncheck the box that says “Make my Profile public”

  23. Una

hi, if i’m not logged in, but i’m looking at someones profile that is public, will i appear on their map? will i appear as a red balloon?

  24. Joe

If you’re not logged in then you’ll only show up as a red balloon or else ignored altogether.

  25. Pamela

i’ve tried to make my visitor map public but there is no option for it. there is only anonymous and off. how do i fix this?

  26. Joe

    Pamela,

First when you view your map, at the top there’s a box showing “Your Visitor Map setting”, what does that say?

Also your profile is private, you may need to make your profile public first before the map will work. To make your profile public, select “Edit Profile” from your profile page then about half way down the page you’ll see “Public Profile Settings” tick the box for “Make my Profile public”

    Hope that helps.

  27. Tattles

quick question if your bebo mapping is set to off can other people still see if you have been on their profile??? thx!!!

  28. Joe

Tattles, sorry been away for awhile. If you have your map turned off or set to private then you will appear as a red pin on other people’s maps. They won’t know it’s you but they will know someone in your area was viewing their profile

  29. Chantelle

Sorry but I’m a bit confused! If you don’t have a bebo account but viewed someone’s public profile, will they be able to see your location at all on their map? What about your IP address? Thanks for the help, I can’t seem to find a straight answer anywhere!

  30. Annie

You have to be 18 or over for your visitor map to be public.
    For securityand protection reason’s.
    Hope it helps.

  31. amouraArede
