From the comments being left on my other posts people seem to be having trouble with the visitors map feature on Bebo.
The above picture shows the box at the top of the visitors map page and shows your current account setting and the options to which you can change it. The box on the left shows your current setting, which in this case is “Public”. On the right shows the two options you can change this to, Anonymous and Off. Your profile has to be set to Public in order to see the pins on the map. Point to note here is that Bebo seem to be only showing pins for people who have visited your profile in the last 24 hours, so your map might have nothing on it for times.
If you see something different from what’s in the picture above then your account is different in some way. I’m guessing Bebo have different settings depending on your age.

No you have to be a registered member on Bebo in order to show up on someone else’s map
thanks for all the information you have been putting up, but for some weird reason my profile is on public but when i go to the Map so see who has viewed my page, there is no choice to be public for the map…..i also read that might have to do with our age…..can you change your name on Bebo? if there is away what is your age for bebo so i can no the range my age has to be in.

Lizzie, first of all I’ve viewed your profile so if you view your map you should at least see me on it (I’ll be in Ireland). Now if you don’t see me then let me know and we’ll try to work something out.

If it is an age thing then that’s a problem as the only way that I know of to change your age on Bebo is to create a whole new account.
how do you change your age im 18 cos i thought that it was over 18′s only bit weird but it mucked up now my best friends cant even speak 2 me its weird i need help badly and i cant create another account HELP !!!
Johnny, First of all check to make sure your profile isn’t set to private. As far as I know you can’t change the age on your profile but what you can do is delete it and create a new one. By deleting your current account you can use the same email address for the new one. Hope that helps.

Hi, just a quick question about how the map works. If someone has looked at my page (and bebo says they did so from say Manchester) and then I check the next day and it says the same person has looked at my page from a field in Devon, does this mean that they are two unique visits? Rather than say, bebo re-calculating where they were? Obviously both are totally inaccurate on location.
Map locations are based on the person’s IP address and what they’ve put as their hometown. So depending on how their internet provider works a person’s position on the map could be anywhere especially if they have something stupid down as their hometown.
Help i only see the annonymous selection. i cant see the green pins like my mate can on hers :S help xx
Does the person view your site have to have there Map turned on aswell before you see them??. thanks the sites very helpful
hi i have a bebo account and all i can see is the red baloons on my google map and when i want to put it public it dosent show that its only showes Anonymous or Off!! not public i clicked on the learn more and al it says is i need an ip address but how do i get it on public to see whos been on my bebo!! it dosen’t say PUBLIC!?? Shane, Yes the person that views your profile needs to have their map turned on or else they wont show up on yours.
Hollie, Again not sure why’s you’re only seeing red pins but I’ve viewed your profile so if you don’t see a green pin for me then email me (joe@joebrennan.net)and we’ll see what’s wrong.
no balloons are appearing on my map at all, how come?
Joanne, your profile is private, the map will only work on public profiles.
i am set to public, my map is off by default, there is no option to turn it on, only have option for off or anonymous… what now?
Also having problems with map on Bebo. Visitors Map showing only anonymous settings, definitely no Public settings on mine. Page is on public viewing setting so it’s not that. Any ideas? Could it be newer pages are getting the public view settings and the older ones aren’t?
Ok my problem with Bebo is now sorted. I emailed them and told them I had no setting on my Map page to change to Public, and they sorted it out.
Caz, thanks for letting us know. Did they say what was wrong? At least people will know to email Bebo staff and tell them there’s a problem
Hi Joe, no Bebo did not say what was wrong, but I have to say once I had emailed them back to say I had no option to make mine Public they were rather quick of the mark to fix whatever problem was causing this.

I was wondering whether if you put your bebo map settings to public , would you be able to see all of the people who have visited your bebo, e.g. seeing not only location but exact profile of who they are etc
or does it depend on thier bebo map settings . e.g. if they are on private – only reveal thier location
so basically what i’m saying is if my map is public will i be able to see everyone who visited my profile
or would still come up as anonymous etc

Oh and what if i look at someones bebo profile( which is public) without signing into my account , will they still be able to tell its me? will location still come up? ’cause i heard its to do with ip settings? ?__?

When your profile is set yo public you will see the location of everyone that views your profile but you will also see the profile of anyone that also has their profile set to public.
If you view someone’s profile without signing in then they will only see your location.
